Each service at Lanna is designed for a particular situation. A light service, a full overhaul, or a careful restoration — we will help you understand which one fits your watch.
How we work
Our approach to every service
Assess
Every watch is examined first. We note the condition, test basic function, and prepare a written summary before any work begins. You can then decide how to proceed.
Service
The agreed service is carried out with professional equipment and watchmaker-grade lubricants. Parts are replaced only when needed and only after discussion with the owner.
Verify & return
Timing is measured on a Witschi machine. The results go into the service record, which is returned with the watch. Follow-up questions are always welcome.
Service 01
Service Check & Clean
A welcoming first service for watches returning to regular wear after a period of storage or light neglect. We clean the accessible parts of the movement, apply fresh lubrication where it is appropriate without a full strip-down, gently regulate the timing, and inspect the seals and crown for condition. A short, honest written note on the watch's condition follows.
This service suits watches that are generally running, keeping reasonable time, and do not appear to have suffered a knock or liquid ingress. If the assessment reveals deeper issues, we will discuss the options before proceeding further.

Best suited for
Watches running but a little slow or inconsistent, recently acquired second-hand pieces, or watches returning from several months of storage.
Service 02
Movement Overhaul
A complete overhaul for mechanical movements that have been running for several years without attention, or that are showing signs of wear. The movement is fully disassembled, every component cleaned ultrasonically in horological solution, then reassembled with fresh lubrication throughout.
The balance, escapement, and mainspring are each reviewed and renewed where wear makes that appropriate. Timing is regulated across several positions and measured on the machine. Seals and gaskets are replaced as part of the service. This is the service most long-serving watches will need.

Best suited for
Watches not serviced in five or more years, pieces with noticeably degraded performance, or any movement where a light clean is unlikely to address the underlying condition.
Service 03
Fine Restoration
A refined restoration for elegant or vintage watches where both the mechanism and the outward presentation matter. The movement is overhauled to a high standard, and the case finish is renewed with care — polished surfaces polished, brushed surfaces brushed, nothing homogenised.
The dial and hands are attended to in keeping with the original look of the piece, and each step of the process is discussed and documented so the result is transparent and the work can be explained. This service is appropriate for watches of sentimental value, significant vintage pieces, or any timepiece where appearance is as important as function.

Best suited for
Vintage and dress watches with sentimental or collector significance, pieces showing case wear that detracts from their appearance, or any watch where full documentation of work is important to the owner.

Secure storage throughout
All watches in our care are held in a locked, monitored environment. No piece is left unattended in an unsecured space.
Machine-measured timing
Every regulated watch is verified on a Witschi timing machine before return. Results are recorded, not estimated.
Horological lubricants only
We use lubricants formulated for watch movements, applied to the correct points and in the correct quantities — no substitutions.
Nothing done without consent
If unexpected issues arise during a service, we pause and contact the owner before proceeding. No assumptions, no surprises.
Complete service documentation
A service record accompanies every completed watch. Parts used, timing figures, and observations noted in writing.
Water resistance verification
Where gaskets are replaced, pressure testing confirms water resistance is restored to the watch's stated specification.
